In one word, it's hard to decide whether to trust TCM puerh statements.
On the other hand, sayings about autumn teas hard to dry and easy to get smoky (because it's hard to dry and dried near smoke sources) are based on facts and could be related to health concerns. But autumn teas could be made well anyway.

I'd hate to say it but (Japanese) tea almost certainty causes heartburn.
Try a bowl of koicha on an empty stomach with no sweet and I can almost guarantee you will get heartburn whether or not you have gerd.

Thank you and blessings! It was a rich experience. I made wonderful new tea friends from around the world. It was good to spend time with friends from Taiwan and immerse for a moment in shared perspectives of tea, from a Taiwan chayi viewpoint. I tasted many teas and gained a strong sense of the transitions and trends in the American tea market throughout the various classes I took and within multiple discussion/reflection sessions.
Some of the best teas I had were Korean teas from Hankook teas: really wonderful teas prepared by very friendly staff. I particularly enjoyed and purchased a nice Jaksul green tea that I look forward to pouring when its time comes. As I mentioned to Chip, the Taiwan teas were good but I felt that we have better Taiwan teas at home in

2013 Spring Wenshan Baozhong tea. This tea is the leftover from the the World Origin Tasting Tour brought to the expo by Thomas Shu. It's a high quality baozhong （包種), dry leaves are bright and green with no excess stems, wonderfully fragrant. I pour it today on intuition and follow the tea; it easily stretches 8 rounds before I settle to other tasks. The liquor is a rich golden color for so light a tea. The flavor is rich, a balsam/vegetal tinged sweetness with soft/subtle cream/nutty undertones, carried over with delicate floral high notes, a truly wonderful tea experience.
I pour 8 grams of bright leaf in a 150 ml Taiwan stone xishi teapot, with 93 deg. C filtered water, and Lin's glazed cups. Each round the smell cups stay fragrant and sweet.
I'm going to have to order more.

Not enough N --> Plant will grow slow, leaves might turn yellow as well because of 'underfeeding'.
It's mainly Kalium that makes the leaves grow thick/dark green + the amount and spectrum of light(mainly the red/farred ratio).
I don't believe in tea grown with barely any nutrients nor in tea with too much. A plant just needs healthy fertiliziation just like a human needs quality food. Cows taste the best as well when they had some nice grass and quality corn to eat, not when they are near starvation or overly fat.

I'm uncertain what would be the best course of action. We have a large compost bin in our backyard that makes the leaf recycling process rather easy. With an apartment, I don't know what would be best; we have taken wet/used leaves and placed them in some of our larger houseplant pots. They dry out and slowly break down.

Excellent advice. In my last purchase, I bought ~300 grams of Japanese sencha from Upton that I liked a lot, but half way through the second 100g bag, I was almost completely burnt out on the taste.

Risdt, I think the one with the pine taste is Göteborg’s Rapé. I haven't tried it yet because I'm personally afraid of the "pine" taste (I think it comes from the Juniper berry?) and the can design is not appealing at all. Oh, and the name is a little... "interesting" for those of us in the US.
The Swedes who use snus probably look at portion users like we tea drinkers look at teabag users.
I'm ordering some loose snus next order just to give it a try at home, but it won't replace my portion use when I'm out or at work.
