Yes, very weird. Quite different, yet they get along so well. Who would have thought.....I never imagined...

Twig tea this evening...another odd combo. Sencha and Gyokuro "twigs"...again it worked really well together.

Darjeeling Phuguri DJ14 "AV2"
means it is the 14th batch from the estate

AV2: Ambari 2 or AV2 is an excellent clone which produces round and flavory teas. It is a popular clone in Darjeeling district.

Ut oh. I've been brewing my oolongs too long since I do 5 minutes for all.
So only tightly rolled TKYs should go for 5 minutes?? All others 3 minutes?? And how about the second steep, 4 minutes and 212??

I go 5 mins for TKY then 3 mins for the 2nd steep.
3 mins for most others, 5 on the second steep.

There is no going back, sorry!

Argh! I wish tea was more black and white! It's difficult to know if you just don't like a tea...or if would like the tea if brewed differently...but I guess that's all part of the tea journey, huh??

So much for the easy days of brewing a pot 'a coffee!

I agree with bambooforest on the freshness of Den's, I've had a few bags of Maki in the fridge for a while now and recently got one out after a few months and it was still very fresh tasting. I haven't had the O-Cha Supreme but Maki is darn good fuka.

I said not a consideration for the vendor.

Price is a consideration for which tea I buy, yes, but thus far, I think the vendors I order from offer fair prices in general, so I go with whichever vendor has the best tea...

Because in the end, tea is the concern!
