1982 Sun Moon Lake Assam. I made an order from Taiwan Tea Crafts to see how there aged oolongs were and decided to add this one because it was so cheap. Very nice tea. After the second infusion, I would have believed point blank this was a (by the way, good) aged Liubao if someone said so. In fact, I'd have guessed this tea was an aged heicha at a blind tasting, not hong. The chaqi isn't as special as aged liubao's I've tried before but it's very much there, and the mouthfeel is nicer.

I have just started my first session with some Baguashan Four Seasons Black Tea (Lot 216) from taiwanteacrafts (received as free samples).
Aroma of dry leaves, first thing I think is wooow, a triumph of different fragrances, aesthetically the leaves are very beautiful, of a color that I could define as dark carmine red.
The taste is very delicate and elegant, this is clearly a high-quality tea.
I highly recommend it.

I just had a great session of 2012 Red Jade (Tai Cha 18) from Origin Tea. Not sure what it is lately but I have really fallen in love with some of these full leaf red teas. Though I almost exclusively drink them in the fall and winter.

Oh I should note this is not a tea for an empty stomach. Granted it may be because I had it right after a strong session of Sencha, but wow, I got so light headed and needed to eat so bad towards the end of this session. But now that I've had food, I am great again.

Starting off my tea day with some darjeeling in a super cute porcelain mug that a friend gave me for my birthday a couple months back. I should have turned the mug around to show off the pretty grapes motif that you can sort of see on the lid.

I love it, but really must stop trying to use the porcelain infuser that came with. Too many leaves make it through for my taste!

I hit the Tai Chi 18 again today/ tonight. I wanted something somewhat quick and easy to brew while getting dinner ready, as I saw this bag on my tea table, I realized it would do the trick. Impressions today, not as good when you are distracted, not sure if it was my brewing or that I hard a harder time focusing on the tea. But I will say because it is a Red tea it is still nice when brewed that way.

A Black tea Sejak. Trying to finish off some teas in my collection so I can focus in some more on what I am drinking and when. I feel my collection is a bit scatter brained now.

Some of the Korean black and balhyocha teas can be kept for quite a while. I have one black sejak tea that I savor. Very expensive and special taste and feeling. Not commercially available. I'm trying to make it last!

Black Pearl from Mountain Tea:
For the first infusion there was a bit of flavor though weak & simple; for the second, I tasted nothing.
Very far from the pleasure of MT's best oolongs.

My only experience w/ a single estate Darjeeling second flush: Makaibari, bought from a Tealuxe store.
I don't know whether that is a good enough test, but it seems that the "Champagne of teas" is not for me.
Obviously, not every tea pleases everyone, but from descriptions of Darjeeling second flush, I thought that I would enjoy it quite a bit.
