Online vendors have started selling darjeeling 2nd flush. I bought the sampler pack from thunderbolt yesterday, containing 11 teas. Can't wait :D

Have you guys started ordering (or even tried any), and what do you think of this year?

Just tried my 1st cup this morning. in fact, drinking it now. A very good tea. This is my 1st Darjeeling and pleasantly surprised at the distinct look and flavor. :D

Here is my notes on a few of them. I takes time to go through :D I will post more in a few days.

Singbulli Muscatel:

Well balanced and full. Musky taste. Nothing out of the ordinary.

Giddapahar Musk:
Light and juicy. Fruity and musky. Reminded me a bit about a North Tukvar 1st flush. Almost no astringency, very mellow. Herby aftertaste. I like this tea.

Arya Emerald:
First experience with a darjeeling green tea. Fresh, more like a 1st flush but without the nuttiness. A green vegetal taste with a "darjeeling" hint. Some fruit notes, like lime. Second steep is better than the first. Great long aftertaste. Holds for at least three steeps (did not try a fourth).

Singbulli Jade Delight:
Beautiful big whole leafs.

Fruity and full. Cacao, honey, grape, tobacco. Fills the whole mouth with its taste, almost exploding. I find it hard to describe this tea, very complex. Love this one, great character.

Arya Tippy Musk:
Dry and woody, not my favorite.

Singbulli Muscatel Delight:

Similar to the Jade Delight but lighter and maybe even fruitier, also more flower notes. Lives up to its name. I think I prefer the Jade Delight but it's really hard when comparing such excellent teas.

Castleton Moonlight:

I think this is the lightest of the bunch, more like something in-between 1st and 2nd flush. Really smooth. Sweet, fruity and a bit spicy.

Risheehat golden musk:

Also a very light tea. Flowery taste, hint of camphor/mint with a cooling effect. Very refreshing but a bit on the thin side for me.

edit: adjusted the brewing parameters and it was just great! Still very light but it was not thin at all. More musky flavors and some spicyness.

Castleton muscatel:

One of my favorites. Great muscatel taste without being overpowering. I find notes of warm milk, wheat biscuit and some sort of planty aftertaste. Very slight astringency.

Arya Ruby:

Cacao, dried fruit, hazelnut with a mild woody note in the end. Really full and delicious, reminds me about hot chocolate milk.
