milk and honey?

by cmonz » Mar 19th, '08, 23:23

I read on here and in reviews that a lot of people put milk or honey in their teas. I want to try it in my irish breakfast tea but not sure how much to put? so how much milk(or honey) do you put in your tea?

depending how milky i feel that day
but
usually put 2tbsp? for ~10oz of brewed tea (if its teabag i use 2 teabags x4min)
i think you put enough so that it feels mily
but it doesnt overpower the tea flavors and milk becomes dominant.
as for sugar... i put a ton of sugar, honey, a ton of honey :D dentists love me.

When I need to add milk, I generally just pour until the cup is a nice tan.. no measurments involved ;)

WHat hop said - I go by color.

For sweetener, I put some in, sip a bit, put some more in, etc.

I've found tea takes more honey then you would think.

It also depends on the milk, if I'm making a pot of breakfast tea for guests and all that's around is skimmed milk then no matter how much I add to my cup it's still not much good. If I've been the one picking the milk then a small dash of full cream Jersey milk will put a smile on my face.

Oh, and same goes for honey a little good quality honey adds far more than a truckload of cheapo sqeezee honey. Honey can be tailored to individual teas.

Just put as much as you want... everyone has different tastes. Play around and see what you like... maybe put in a little vanilla flavored creamer.
