Adagio's Irish Breakfast?

Postby omegapd » Apr 14th, '08, 14:11

Hey All,

Most Irish Breakfast teas that I've tried have been full, strong, somewhat malty and make a very good morning tea for me...

I've yet to try Adagio's IB but reading some of the reviews on the webpage makes it sound like it's a much milder version that what I know as Irish Breakfast. Has anyone here tried it and can convince me it's strong stuff?

If any of the Adagio crew sees this, what would you consider is the "strongest breakfast tea" you guys sell?

Thanks,

EW

Hi EW,

Adagio's Irish is full leaf and most out there are broken leaf. So, yes, Adagio's Irish is a bit smoother, and not as assertive as typical Irish BF. You can adjust this a bit with more leaf but...

When I need something very bold, I reach for the Golden Monkey. It seems to do the trick. :)

Thanks much. I've yet to try the Golden Monkey so I'll be sure to remember to put that in the next order.

I would say Adagio's Irish Breakfast is not as potent as some other I.B. I tried. I like Adagio's better though. I have Harney's I.B. that is very strong, so strong it is hard for me to deal with it. It's broken leaf of course. If you want to try Harney's I.B., send me a PM. I will be glad to send you a sample.

I have to agree with all comments here. The Adagio IB is fine but it isn't a strong brisk tea. The Golden Monkey is lovely, though!
