I used to steal a coworkers' Tea Masala her folks brought her back from a trip to visit relatives in India.

Of course neither of us work there anymore...and I can't find the stuff anywhere. But OMG that stuff was amazing...could finally get my Chai Lattes spicy enough for me...it should tingle on the way down.

This is a bit of a strange recipe for masala, but it works:

4 1/4 tsp powdered ginger
1 1/8 tsp cloves
4 1/4 tsp whole black peppercorns
1 3/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/10 nutmeg, crushed
1 1/2 tsp green cardamom pods

Combine all ingredients; crush with a mortar & pestle to a powder.

ooooo that looks like almost exactly like what the ingredients on the jar said...coolness. will have to dig out my mortar and pestle and give it a go
