Does anyone else drink tea in the shower?

by TubbyCow » Jan 30th, '10, 15:41

I recently discovered how grandiose it is, and I'm wondering if anyone else does it. If not, you should try.

I usually just bring in a cup of something cheap so I'm not too distraught if it accidentally gets a bit watered down. It's a wonderful thing - combining the (depending on my mood) revitalizing/calming/warming/cooling aspects of a shower with the same aspects of a tea.

I can't possibly be the only person who loves this combination.

I've done it before :)

I don't think I've ever intentionally done it-- usually it goes that I just happened to have some tea I just made and need to shower... well... might as well take it with me

Here's something sort of related that you reminded me of. One of my old college roommates would make coffee before going to bed (like... 3am) and put it in one of those pump carafes: Image... yeah that guy... and put it by his bed. So first thing when he woke up, he would just fill up a cup with coffee while he was in bed. Then once he was up he'd take his coffee in the shower with him-- so I found many a coffee cups still in the shower that he would leave.

Gotta love roommates

Never in the shower ... in the tub, sure. And then there is the actual TeaBath, which is usually older tea leaves that I may not be inclined to drink anyway. It is quite relaxing actually.

2 lbs of the most premiere antioxidant rich, cancer fighting Teavana white tea blended with some of their monkey picked oolong, of course!

That would depend on how much you have. I try not to toss old tea, so I usually have plenty of tea that may not have impressed me enough to drink but works quite nicely for the TeaBath.

I usually boil a large pot of water, then throw the leaf in there, then strain it as I pour it in the tub. A cup of fluffier tea or half that of not fluffy tea should be a good starting point.

I definitely prefer greens and whites. Something disconcerting about a tub full of BLACK tea.

Hmmm, I would suggest glass teaware for in the shower. Live dangerously.

I take a cup of hot tea with me as I go to shower... but I leave it outside on the vanity... so it is there waiting for me when I step out. It helps me not linger toooo long in the shower, since I don't want my tea to go cold before I can enjoy it. We procrastinating usually-running-late types have to trick ourselves into being on time. :?

That's why I tend to shower at night. Doesn't so much help me get more sleep, just lets me sleep in later. Example morning: Up at 7:40, dress, makeup, etc; eating breakfast and getting lunch together by 8, leaving house no later than 8:15 to get to work by 8:30.

Yes, I've done it. The bath, yes, but the shower when I have a cup and don't want it to get could. Just a couple of times, but I've definitely been there.
