Green Tea Ice Cream

by TeaFanatic » Feb 26th, '06, 00:17

So today I was at the grocery store, and I found some green tea ice cream from California. Has anyone else tried this ice cream? I will try it tonight and let you all know what I think.

I've never found any in a grocery store at all so I can't vouch for the particular kind you bought, but I have LOOOOOVED the green tea ice cream I've gotten in Japanese restaurants. It's very yummy.

Just had some 5 minutes ago, and it is very hard to describe. You can certainly taste the green tea, but it also tastes like there is a lot of sugar in it. I will have to go check the ingredients.

Also, it is good in small quantities but after awhile it kinda makes you sick to the stomach.

Easy to find in San Francisco (and Osaka, but that should not be too surprising). It is one of my favorite kinds of ice cream - just a hint of the grassiness, otherwise vanilla-like. I think that it is usually made from cheep matcha - used as flavor for everything in Japan.
