Although this won't affect this board that much I just found out through a seller in the U.S. that there is a restriction on sending items from the U.S. to other countries. Has anyone heard about this?

Here is the US Postal Service International information updates....... nothing big from what I can see.

UPS however is now requiring a driver's license ID to send stuff.

There are quite a few of us in other countries that order from US vendors and participate in the OTTI´s which Chip sends from the US

Dragging this up from the dead..........

Does anyone know if this weight restriction is still in place for a foreign individual (as in me going to the post office somewhere in Japan) without an official "account" set up to send packages home to the USA from Japan? I usually use EMS or SAL.

I'm about the head there in a couple of days and want to be prepared for this possibility...... which will be a pain in the butt if it is still happening.

I sent recently package to USA, weight was about 1kg. Used EMS, arrived without problems. I don't have any registration and nobody in post office tried to ask something.

Hello John,
The restriction was lifted about a month after it was initiated. I have been sending packages practically every day this year without a problem. There should be no problem.
