another great poem, very lovely! i enjoyed it. i woke up this morning with the urge to write a short story. i've written a lot in the past, so its nothing new for me. anyone have any story ideas? i'm at a loss! i feel compelled to write, but i barely know what i want to write about. any ideas, big or small would be awesome.

hmm, that's an interesting idea, peachaddict, i like it. i'm going to take a few notes on that one and see what else i can come up with to support that when i go out tonight. lol, i carry a notebook almost everywhere for notes. i need to think of some "barriers." thanks!

Does screenwriting count?

sure... any kinda of creative writing counts.

...I love to write about things that I love to do...but I generally lack both a creative outlet and the focus to see anything of substance to fruition...I keep telling myself one day.

I always as a result admire those who venture out to take their creative journeys...while I stay at home...but one day...

You can write practically anything. Plays, stories, poems, prose, essays, anything. You don't even have to share them to everyone (even just one person is good).

Sometimes I just write, it doesn't have to be anything at all, just take out a notebook and start writing, don't worry about sentance structure or making things rhyme, just start writing, and don't stop 'cos if you do you'll get "writers block" hehe, I've found the best way to over come that is to read what you've written and by the time you get to the end the creative juices flow again.

I rarely pre-think what I write about (unless it's for school or something like that), words just "flow" when you start writing.

Late to this conversation, but I've only just found the site. Everyone's work is quite nice.

I've been writing on and off for years but just started to get serious about it.

I'm also planning to drink copious quantities of tea while attempting NaNoWriMo this year. Anyone heard of it? It's a challenge where you try and write a 50,000 word first draft of a novel in 30 days (November).

thank you so much for mentioning NaNoWriMo! I had heard about this "event", and now that I know the name I have added myself to the reminder list.

That being said, I think I may be playing along. We'll see if TeaMuse suffers, or grows even stronger due to the challenge.

I make it a habit to always carry even the smallest notebook for spontaneous writing, journalizing and jotting down non-sequiter ideas. I also put a lot of energy in my tea blog or my myspace blog. I used to be a mad poet, but have lost my inspiration for poems. I have novels I write in my head all the time, but never actually commit to paper...
