Hello again my friends, I'm just checking in. I've disappeared for a bit but hopefully I can find some time to check in to TC every once in a while.
There have been some great changes in my life during the past few months, some for the better and some terrible tragedies including the loss of a young friend of mine during the recent October snow storm.
But to focus on the good, I quit my bank job and was hired as an IT Specialist making more than twice what I'd made before in a job that I'm much more suited for.
I've been immersing myself in the Nepali culture, learning the language and working with immigrants and refugees from Nepal and Bhutan. I've met some amazing people and it's opened my eyes to a whole new style of life... not to mention I've drank lots and lots of chiya (chai) and have made friends with a few people who've lived on tea farms.
I'm so busy these days, but that is good, it keeps me from getting depressed, the only down side is making time for good tea, which I am fortunately able to do this morning- I'm having a Tibetan Hei Cha (Ya Xi grade) in a small hongni pot, it's surprising how good this is! I wasn't expecting much!
