St. Patrick's Day, for me, has always been a time of quiet reflection. A lot of people wear green, drink green beer, party, and have an obligatory shamrock design somewhere... not for me. I will be having a couple acquaintances over for a small, quiet gongfu session. I was worried about being too "cliche" in serving green tea on SPD, but figure since technically it brews up a pale yellow, I should be okay on that front.

What is the rest of the community up to?

During the day: taking care of business
During the Night: wearing green, drinking irish whiskey, and watching irish movies

Seems like it just HAS to be green tea.

with a little alcohol added

Here we call it Guinness

although in Munster they call it Murphy's

I suppose, John, if I wanted to be truly hokey, I'm sure I'd be able to find a store in Charlotte that carries Matcha...
As for the miscellany category - yeah, hindsight tells me this probably could have gone under the 'other tea related' section. Guinness *shudders*

I had a few errands this morning, cat to vet for vaccinations, post office and then off to buy cat food.. then.. once I got home.. It had to be irish breakfast tea today. This is one of my go to teas for the mornings during the work week... but it seemed appropriate. I'm inside for the day curled up with my knitting.. working on a fair isle sweater and have one sleeve left.. so want to finish before it gets too warm.

This was the first year in the past few years, I did not have my traditional Matcha on St. Patricks day. Normally on St. Pats I only drink green teas ( maybe slight exception for very green oolongs).
