Indeed we are the same folk Global Tea Hut
is an amazing project, and we are beginning to see the effect it's having on the lives of those involved. Perhaps some of them will share here.
We also have a center/school in Taiwan and another opening soon in Russia. We offer local as well as residential programs in tea, meditation and Cha Dao. As of now we have around 50-100 visitors a year. Oh, and all courses as well as room and board are all completely free! There needs to be more such tea wisdom, shared without any financial profit or self-promotion---shared in the ancient spirit of tea: leaves and water, happiness and ease.
We also set up roadside tea huts to serve bowls of tea to passerby, freely and without any agenda other than a warm smile, some loving-kindness and a bit of calm presence. We have a permanent stall in a local organic market, for example.
You can read more about our center at: http://www.teasagehut.org
If you find yourself Eastward bound, let us know.
Also, The Leaf
will be getting a huge makeover in August/September and will resume at that time. There is a new editor-in-chief on her way to live in Taiwan, and she has tons of professional experience in journalism, tea writing and web design as well!! I will be sure to tell her to chill out
