Is buying from Adagio worth it

I am new to teas, and only every really had the normal bagged green tea from my local store. I have been interested in buying loose tea from Adagio for quite a while but I am not sure if it would be worth it as i feel the prices for these teas seem a little high to me. I also live in the UK so i will get a minimum of $15 added on my order (which at the moment is $59 - 4 tins of tea and an ingenuiTEA).

How good is there tea? is it worth me trying to find a more local supplier? Also how long would a 4-oz tin last me, if i drunk 1 cup a day, for instance?

To me, it is so worth buying from adagio. 4oz of tea should last you a while. Plus for every $1 you spend on tea you get 1 frequent cups pts. Every 100 pts you earn you get $10 redeemable through a creificate. BTW, did you get a $5 gift certificate for new costumers?

If you were in the US my answer would be - absolutely. Get a few of their sampler packs (actually the one with the Ingenuitea is great). But then again if I were in the UK having to pay international shipping I might think of a local option.

BUT! You are paying British Pounds for US Dollars. So everything at a US Site is a steal for you. So I'd say go for it.

I got their black tea sampler and I've been very happy with the selection. Their English Breakfast tea has a nice smokey tone I've not tasted w/ other English Breakfast teas and I find it quite pleasant.

Once you get hooked there's no turning back, before you know it you'll be hunting down specific years and makers of pu ehr.

Cheers :)

I drink adagio tea and think it's one of the better ones out there. Your mileage may vary, of course.

How long tea lasts really depends on your brewing and drinking habits. Do you only use the first infusion? How much do you drink? How much leaf do you put in? What kind of tea? Black tea is brewed differently than greens than herbals. One cup of tea a day sounds like not a lot -- but then again, how big is your cup?

I'm not trying to be cagey. The reality is that however you brew your tea now is probably going to be the same way you brew the Adagio tea -- and you're likely to used it up in the same way. The only caveat to that is whether you drink, let's say, a green and then buy a black. Different methods of brewing are needed there.

I would ask what kind of quality of tea you're drinking. You can pay a lot for both swill and good tea, but good tea isn't cheap. In terms of price, Adagio isn't much more expensive than any good tea company.

The tea that I am drinking at the moment is in a bag, like normal tea is. It's nothing special, its not loose like Adagio's is. My cup isn't that big but i am getting some new ones soon so i will get a nice sized one for the Adagio stuff. I only drink about 1 cup a day as I never have time for one in the morning and I don't want to be taking expensive tea into work, not that i get at of time to drink it. I would have 1 after work. I never used to have hot drinks when i was younger and its only now (i'm 22) that i am wanting to drink more but still only fancy 1-2 a day

Bagged tea = not even close in quality. It's the sweepings off the floor. Don't buy any loose quality tea because you'll be hooked and then you'll think nothing of spending $50 a month or more on tea. And you will drink a lot more tea.

Fair warning.

So, yeah, Adagio tea is worth it. Hate to say it, but you're comparing apples to sheep's dung.

Extra $15 is a lot. You might try looking around at Japan and China-based shops and compare their prices to Adagio. If you're asking if it's worth it to pay a lot more for good loose tea, then I say yes it is. Some dealers overprice their teas making it not worth it, but Adagio is not one of them.

You might try looking through some of the Asian tea shops. They have some of the best greens and other teas (not surprising since they are going to have better access to, and knowledge of, the good stuff), and I wouldn't expect shipping to be any different between the UK and US, since they are sending from Asia.

In order to cut back on the shipping fees I'd pester friends/family/neighbors who would also be interested in ordering with you. Find two others, send in one order, split the extra fees and suddenly $15 turns into a more reasonable $5 each

Syar,

I’m glad to inform you that Adagio will start serving UK customers soon! You’ll be able to order Adagio’s gourmet teas without the high shipping costs... and deliveries will be swift too 8)

Also, don’t hesitate to have a look at our tea bags (http://www.adagio.com/teabags/) , which contain the same high quality tea. The real advantage is that they are individually packaged, so you can bring them along to work or on trips and enjoy your favourite teas on the go.

Hope this helps!
