Where do you drink your tea? (show off your tea nook)

by trent » Jun 25th, '08, 22:19

Surroundings can influence tea sessions almost as much as the tea/teaware it self can, so... Where do you drink your tea?

I'll start things off w/ a pic of where I've been having tea lately.

Check out my blog or my flickr photos for more. Go back far enough and you might just see some photos from my dorm room!

Nice setup hop!

Is that the tray from Yunnan Sourcing? If it is, I'm waiting for the same one to arrive in the mail.

And just out of curiosity, why do you use a "cushion" underneath your yixig when you already have a tray? Is it so you can catch the wastewater and use it to warm the other cups etc?

That tree is asking to be climbed. By me! With a cup of tea, perhaps. You should perch yourself up in the crook and sip away!

Well, if it weren't for the beehive and the fact that most of the branches would break off without being held by wires, it would be fun. :)

Yes it is the tray from YS. You will enjoy it. As for my tea cushion, I jus use it for aesthetics. It really has no purpose when you use a drainable tray just as you stated.

Glad to hear that someone else likes it. I got it b/c of it's huge size (I don't like things to be crammed) and because it's all wood. I thought that seeing an ugly plastic "under tray would disrupt the aesthetics.

It's a great size as you can see! And best of all it hasn't leaked or deterioated in any way!

Lovely surroundings and great photos, everyone! Here's my favourite tea nook. Sorry for the bad quality of photo, it's taken with my cell phone camera.
