Well, where Ghost and I are from, the water is pretty good. Where I go to school, it is NASTY. As hell. So I use a Brita pitcher. Trust me Ghost, it makes a big difference in the taste. I've just never subjected you to tea made from the nastified tap water here.

as to the health issues...I drink half a litre of tea before work, 3-4 litres at work and another litre in the evening...I don't think you need to worry...but if you want to worry then worry about not drinking enough. You should be getting at least 64 oz of fluid a day, more if its tea (because tea is a diuretic (sp?)) or if you are exercising or if its hot.
Grrrr...the board ate my post and I don't feel like retyping it.
I have a really lousy sense of taste (ha ha ha). I just can't taste very subtle flavor differences. I do notice a difference between spring and tap water, but it's not really enough that I particularly care, I guess. Since I can't taste subtle flavors, I usually go in for Black and overbrewed Green teas anyhow.
I'll just go back to complaining about those darn kids and their darn "rock-and-roll" music.

View from the UK
I'm not sure whether this is a UK phenomenum but here in the UK we have a worrying trend that has started to appear - 'tea binge drinking' (very often in the work place).
I have witnessed colleagues in my own work place challenging each other to see how many cups of tea they can drink in a day.
I find this rather alarming and this has a number of risks and issues -spillage on equipment; burns from hot tea; lost work time through excessive tea making.
I would appreciate your views on this - 'are you a binge drinker or tea total?'

Well, I am not sure. Is this is supposed to be a joke??? Regardless, I had to laugh. Well, Laura, I would say they would OD on caffeine and become nervous wrecks. I know I would.laura p wrote:I'm not sure whether this is a UK phenomenum but here in the UK we have a worrying trend that has started to appear - 'tea binge drinking' (very often in the work place).

I am sorry, but are you serious??? This just cracks me up and I don't mean to offend you.
I just can't envision people doing this. Is this just another case of good *tea drinkers gone wild*???
