Thank you. Nobody seems to really like the Monkey King painting, but me. I guess it's all in the eye of the beholder.

Re: Share your Scroll(s)
I was walking through an old village a few years ago and saw an old man in his house painting. I knocked and asked if I could watch. He invited me in for tea and showed me some of his pieces. I bought this one from him. It doesn't look anywhere near as good in this small photos as it does in person. The fish really look like they're swimming underwater near a lotus flower. I love this scroll.

Very lovely IPT. Lotus and koi, 2 of my most favorite things.
Thanks for sharing your story with us.
Chip and I have a few scrolls we have not posted ... so maybe Chip can work on that?

Re: Share your Scroll(s)
Very nice! I love the use of color on the black and white. And how special
to have a lovely story behind it.
I would love to have lots of scrolls, I see them and I am so tempted,
but I don't have the wall space. Which is why I need that tea room!
I have one, but even that, I had to get very creative to find a spot.
I had it at work a while, but now It hangs in front of a CD cabinet that
is almost the exact width. I still haven't figured a way to hinge it,
or otherwise, to get into the cabinet. Unfortunately the cabinet has
two glass doors that open out from the center.

Re: Share your Scroll(s)
The beauty of scrolls is that you can just roll them up and hang a new one. I have only two places in my house to hang scrolls and change them when the spirit moves me. I love them so much better than framed art for this reason.

Yeah, having only one place to hang a scroll, it is nice being able to change them periodically. And it is long overdue!
Thanks for sharing, IPT.

This will be a slow process considering one is out at a time!IPT wrote:You're quite welcome.

Re: Share your Scroll(s)
OK, here is the one that is currently out. It is "back-lit" and serves as a sort of partition. The backlighting looks better IRL, is pretty dramatic.
If you look at the OP, it is the same scroll, yeah time to put up another.

It is the same scroll, but it is quite beautiful.
Any chance of a closeup shot of their heads? Sorry, I like looking at the details.
