Storing pu-erh in countries with cold climate.
Any tips or things i need to know? To be more specific, it will be stored in Estonia with quite cold winters. Central heating makes air quite dry, temperature usually around 20-22C, air circulation is quite poor. In summer it does get hot once in a while, but in room temperature stays more or less constant whole year. 20-25C.

Why are you worrying about storing puerh now....aren´t you just starting to get into it?

Part of the fun of pu-erh to me seems to be watching your cakes change.entropyembrace wrote:Why are you worrying about storing puerh now....aren´t you just starting to get into it?
make a pumidor to keep the climate more suitible for ageing or be very patient. I have also heard that you can "kill" your cakes by having them in an unsuitable environment for to long.

This is not exactly for me, but for my brother in Estonia. Just worrying that storage there can ruin puerh cakes quite fast. With other teas storage question is simple.entropyembrace wrote:Why are you worrying about storing puerh now....aren´t you just starting to get into it?
And for me, i still didn't try anything yet. But will try quite soon many different samples with help of a teachat member

I live in Canada, climate here is very cold and usually dry and we use gas heating all winter.
for short term storage....like if you buy a cake to drink and will take some time to get through it you dont need to do anything special.
to actually age puerh even if you like dry storage it would be a good idea to use a humidifier at least for the winter months
