I'm sure you packed it lovingly into a box for the trip...
I know the feeling on the GFZ. I haven't had much exposure to this region, so I bit the bullet and bought one of the beengs -- of course now I'll be faced with the dilemma of having to break into it to try it...
Although I noticed Jim over at PuerhShop recently put up a GFZ as well...

Did I miss something? How come I can't find any reference to the pre-sale anywhere?

No, just keep it and you can trade it like valuable asset or currency in years to come ...Drax wrote:...

Yes, it may. It was a 1994 8582 bought in 1997 and which arrive in western Europe in 1999.shah82 wrote: You might just have had a bad puerh bing.
The pu I'm speaking are not necessarely well known bings.
And sometimes, one can find good teas in shops selling many things and just not teas. Such shops don't follow the price markets. For instance in a restaurant selling some jade and some teas (!), I've bought this :
http://www.grandtea.com/no.-7813-Feng-Qing-p-304.html
for RMB 70 ($11). Stored dry closed to LuguHu. I know quite well FQ products, it seems to be true.
In 2009, I've bought in Shanghai a 1992 bing for RMB 900 (138$). This was not made by a well known producer, but compared with a BaBaQingBing medium stored or 90' Nada teas, this one was more complex, better qi we and arrived to about 50 steps (not usual for beginning 90' teas).
But for sure, almost all famous teas (not necessary best ones) in China are now really high priced. I would not buy an old 7542 !
A friend of mine bought an old high quality Yixing of beginning ROC in a antiquarian shop. The seller didn't know the price of such teapot ...

I saw that also...but those leaves are brown and rust colored, which makes me wonder how tweaked the leaves are.Drax wrote: Although I noticed Jim over at PuerhShop recently put up a GFZ as well...

Re: EOT 2011 Cakes
I used the search feature on the EOT site for 2011 puerh and found & ordered some of the cakes in question that way.Drax wrote:Drop EoT an email and he'll send you the info... the links aren't "public" yet.the_skua wrote:Did I miss something? Re: EOT 2011 Cakes
I can't believe it, 2011 EoT Mannuo has all gone including sample . The new items only officially on the site a few days ago. It's really flying off the shelf like hot cake.
Re: EOT 2011 Cakes
Hobbes gave a great review of the Mannuo cake on his blog. Maybe he just bought them all !
Re: EOT 2011 Cakes
Hrm, I recall getting a side-sample last year of some tea that wasn't for sale... it might have been the Mannuo. If so, it was pretty good, and I'll look forward to trying it out again this year.
I got word a couple days ago that my order shipped, so it should be here relatively soon. I just hope customs doesn't decide to split a couple of the beengs in two like they did a couple of years ago...

Re: EOT 2011 Cakes
That really blows I asked nada if he thought any of the other cakes would sell out like the gfz and he told me the bulang was the one I should be worried about, and that their was no burning rush on the other cakes Now I only have a little sample ofI can't believe it, 2011 EoT Man
nuo has all gone including sample . The new items only officially on the site a few days ago. It's really flying off the shelf like hot cake
Manou Some one must a swooped in for the jian
With tea like this you can't even sample it before you buy it. If you do there maybe nothing left to buy by the time youve sampled it
Well the two tongs of douji I got in the mail from Yunnan Sourcing yesterday will have to console me

Re: EOT 2011 Cakes
When I saw that, I was mostly just thinking a shipping snafu holding up part of the supply. Mansai was depicted as out of stock for a little while last year too. Doesn't mean he ran out.
