I was curious if somebody here got any insights on this...
I bought a 2011 Sheng Pu Erh cake to age at home. The cake came in a nice cardboard box but I was wondering wether I could give it a better home in wich to age :D
I wanted to make a box out of olive wood in wich to store and age a raw puerh cake I bought. The wood itself smells magnificent but I was wondering if it could taint the pu's taste. I didn't find much info on what material storage containers should be made out of; except clay or bamboo, no others are mentioned.

If you like the smell of the wood and you want your tea to smell the same way... go for it. If you want the tea to develop its own aroma without any influences... don't. Tea will pick up any aromas present in its storage area.

I wouldn't put much effort into finding the perfect container for it unless you have plans of storing more cakes. Just no odor, no light and no wind tunnel. Just put it in a cardboard box on your shelf and forget about it for another 15 years.
