Your favorite 2012 Sheng so far

One of the intentionally aged teas, Pu-Erh has a loyal following.

is it me or a good part of the 2012 sheng have in common a floral flavour very easy to notice? i find this flavour extremely boring but i suppose it's not bad news for aging... is it? i probably didn't sample enough 2012 shengs. the one i liked the most was a xigui

Only one 2012 sheng to date: 2012 Yunnan Sourcing "Yi Wu Purple Tea". It was quite lovely, so nice I had to share--couldn't keep it all to myself. Yes, a definite delicately floral quality was there.

Hardly try any thing from this year. All my this year EoT cakes still inside the box. Only one I tried this year:

Only tasted the sample once which interested me and in the process of getting a cake. Will post pics and note when I got it. Don't know when.

How did you pick this one? Seems rather random. Have you bought from them before?

This was actually my favourite one too. But as it is not a purchasable tea, I didn't mention it.

First time with a single tree puerh, just like a phoenix "dan cong". Very interesting.

Sour plums?

I can't think of a single young sheng I've had that tastes like that. Smoky, sometimes more stinky like gym socks; spicy; earthy; sweet; floral; grassy; bitter; herbaceous and anise notes; and caramel--all of those are ways I've described the flavors of young sheng, but never sour plum.

I don't like this year's sheng, whatever year this year is.

It all pretty much tastes the same, like some funny green tea...

Only slight differences between even wildly different cakes.

The only times you really should get a sour plum feel is from certain kinds of older teas, especially from Yiwu.

New puerh? Sour? Well, wild wild tea can be sour, but it's like room temperature grapefruit sort of sour. Sour plums?

Catfur, what 2012 teas have you tried?
