One of my favorite parts about living in Guangzhou was playing basketball outside for a couple of hours, sweating a gallon of sweat, and then going to have hot soup with these after the game. Delicious.

Older gaiwan I lucked out on on eBay: another member said they're from Hunan and pretty expensive. While the porcelain has a few flaws, the rattan weave and overall craftsmanship is excellent:

Chiuchow beef intestine, creamy liver and tripe on noodles with lettuce and oyster sauce on the side. This is part one: part two is a similar box, but only with tripe, and I have some choi sum to chase the meat and noodles down. I'm having too much fun eating in this neighborhood! I noticed they were drinking some very green TGY out of that big pot I noticed yesterday. I ran out for lunch without my iPhone, but I'll try and get a shot next time.

I think some dark roast TGY is absolutely called for with this meal!

Not really tiny, but yeah, the one I took pictures of that you said is suspect. It might actually be a blend. Whatever it is, it is sweet and sour and not too funky like wet stored shu often is--definitely like no shu I've had before, and the leaves look like liu'an. I did, however, get a little bit of an itchy throat from it yesterday as it was going down. I did also find a little green thread in it (found the same in the 2005 CNNP 7542), so there must be some pu in it at least, no?

Oh, the one with a lot of bings? That's a "black shop", I'd not bother.

Yeah, I don't think I'll be going there again, especially with so many great places to buy tea in the neighborhood!

Ah ok! From looking at the pu again, it does appear to be bo lei (pieces of beng, etc). Airing out the wet stored shu has really removed the 'storage' taste from it. Funny that all of the shu I've bought tastes like storage right from the store!

And each store tastes a bit different
