So i know little about puer shopping and what to look for.
Cheap tea on Ebay isn'texactly the greatest. But what about cheap puer?
I found some cheap whole cakes, should i stay away or try it out?

start with samples. decent place in the US to get samples with reasonable shipping, etc is puershop.com Also www.yunnansourcing.us has some samples, also in us.

Think of the samples as tuition, and just keep buying new ones until you start to know what to expect based on factory, etc. And don't order whole cakes for a while even if you think you like something, otherwise you are going to waste a lot of money on undrinkable crap.

you'll want to get a few teas over 20 years old just to try... for that see bana, essence of tea and sampletea...

the first puer I bought was a tuo from sevencups.
I tried it and I like it, but its the only puer i've ever had, so I have nothing to compare it to. But, its sevencups so I don't doubt that its good.
I ordered some 10g samples from sample tea of both raw and cooked puer, but the stuff thats older than 10 years gets pretty expensive.
