Dayi 2013 301 Danqing

Danqing (Red Green?)
Red means smooth and ripe?
Green means elegant astringent?

I just saw the price of this shu, it would be over 400 rmb per cake :!:

Some pictures

It said it is a work of art with slight fermentation, but it seem just a mixture of leaves with various degrees of fermentation as well as some sheng mixed in as well. As far as I know, if you mixing shu and young sheng, it would taste very weird.

Interesting to see how the market will react when it comes out.

400 RMB wholesale price? And it is ripe?

I asked one wholesaler I know what the material was and he said "That is not public information".

Curious.

Oh, I was not criticizing - I am genuinely curious what it is like, since that is one of the more expensive starting prices they have introduced for a shu tea.

PuerCN states that no price has been named yet, but last year the price for a similiar? cake was 8000RMB (for a 10kg package of 28 cakes) = 285 per cake.

Taobao pre-sale prices are ~400RMB stating it is "lightly fermented big bud maocha", "combining the taste of raw and cooked pu erh". Take it for what it's worth. :D

The review picture of PuerCN shows that there is a very small amount of sheng mixed in

Here's a good Chinese article regarding DY speculation.

Nothing new in that article , in fact one of big dealer from Guangdong who I know personally backed off from purchasing any 2013 tea from Dayi , he says : it's became too dangerous to hold stocks of their new expensive teas .

Some vendors are already selling it. I think it is just shu, despite what that puercn person said, but I am not 100% sure.

Perhaps their motive is to elevate shu puer after trying to pump the sheng market for so long.

I think a picture of spent leaves would show if there are any sheng in it.

I just saw on Dayi flag ship store, they are selling it 1 tong per hour! No one could buy in bulk cornering the market or creating shortage so the price wouldn't crash?

Yes, I think it's a logical step for Dayi pumping shu puerh now.

I happen to like v93... and it's not terribly expensive.

Well, v93 being cheap mostly has to do with speculative disinterest. The '08 I have is an excellent performer.
