Hail in Xishuangbanna

It has already hailed twice since I have been in Yunnan this Spring. Once in Laoman'e and once in Menghai. As far as I can tell there has not been any major damage to the tea in the area, but my friend's roof in Laoman'e was punctured full of holes.

In Menghai it was a sunny afternoon, and then out of nowhere there was hail covering the streets. Just thought people might be interested in some of the pics.

We chatted with a tea farmer in Gedeng whose old trees were significantly damaged by hail (around the 21st March). They were just starting to sprout buds when the hail came. She reckoned it cost her about 100,000 RMB in lost tea.

Her trees still showed significant damage around a week later when we were there.
