Just remember they may be gone by the time you get around to ordering!

Toby, I am not really sure why you blacked out the symbols and prices...I am so familiar with their stock and logo that'd I recognize a MX-Tea tea any day (spy-black-out-or-not).

I'd say MX-tea is generally good. It might be a good place to pick a few cakes with a few years of storage.

I got a spotty cake from them a month or two ago. It was actually a 2005 Xiaguan 8653. My friend got the same cake and it drank much better than mine...which makes me think "spotty" since we live in the same area...with a relatively similar storage set up (small closed environment with slight added humidity).

Their 93' Xiaguan "Toucha" tea bags are interesting too.

None of these are apart of my future dream order... not "dreamy" enough.

I might mix up the rules of this forum with another tea forum.

Also, I don't want to be like plugging a certain Taobao store, just incase someone thought I am related to the vendor or something.

That 2006(601) 0622 200g cake I posted above is totally gangsta.

I had early 00s Menghai 7532 and 7432 before. That 0622 reminded me of them.

Also, there are at least 8 types of 2005 8653 at that shop, without counting the FT.

2005 Jan thick paper Trad Chinese Iron cake
2005 Jan thick paper Trad Chinese cake
2005 Feb thick paper Trad Chinese Iron cake
2005 Feb thick paper Trad Chinese cake
2005 thick paper(March?) Simplified Chinese Iron cake
2005 thick paper(March?) Simplified Chinese cake
2005 thin paper Simplified Chinese Iron cake
2005 thin paper Simplified Chinese cake

Which one did you get?
Personally I won't try the Simplified Chinese or any non-iron.

Mr Mopu: https://mx-tea.world.taobao.com/

Toby: This is the one I got (I think it's a thin paper simplified Chinese one): http://world.taobao.com/item/6914199814 ... mSite=main (looks to be maybe pressed in August, sold in September).

Dude, maybe you shouldn't gamble, you picked the worst possible 8653 in 2005. Also, 2005 label cake for less than $200RMB? Vendors would only sell you stuff more expensive than it should be but seldom cheaper than it should be.

Generally speaking, for XG:

First year is the best: 99 Flat Iron/ 2006 FT number four.

Eariler batch is better: 2005 January Thick Paper 8653, 2008 Nanzhou Cake, 2004 Aug White bricks (much better than the Nov one, I have both)

Iron is better: 2011 Dark Gold Iron VS non-iron is like totally different cakes.

Jokes aside, MX's tea is great but sometimes you get a badly storaged one. Like my 2004 Nov white brick and 2004 green box tuo.

YMMV

Simple as it may be, my dream order right now consists simply of a nice, well made tetsubin and a cake of Sampletea's 80s Tong Qing Hao raw. At over $300usd for the cake of TQH though, I'd rather buy a couple $100+ cakes that I'll still enjoy.
