Well, Augie, that brings us to the part of Pu that I like the least: cataloging it, copying over the meaningless Chinese words and wondering why the heck I bought that cake anyway. Since I have to do these tasks at some point, however, I might as well humor you and list the info here, but I've only tasted one, so the others might all taste like insecticide for all I know!

Starting from the upper left and going clockwise:
Yunnan Sourcing

• 1) 2007 Guoyan Youle Mountain Wild Arbor Raw cake, 400 gr, $10.90
  2) 2007 Mengku Mu Ye Chun Raw Cake of Yongde, $18.60
  3) 2008 Xiaguan "Golden 8100" Raw cake, $12.50
  4) 2005 Dehong "Golden Melon" raw, 500 gr (like a big tuocha), $11.00
  5) 2005 Gong Ting Tribute Ripe Mini-Cake, 100 gr, $7.60

Puershop (left to right - both are bricks)

• 2007 Haiwan 9908 Old Nugget Ripe Brick, 500 gr, $20.99 (suggested by Dizzwave and Insanitylater - tasty, easy to brew, and keeps on going)
  2007 Yongpinhao Yiwu Puerh Ripe Brick (the smaller brick), 250 gr, $5.46

I think I ordered most of the YS ones because Trioxin and I were going to do a Puerh Forum tasting of them, and I think a major draw may have been that they were cheap. But mostly, I have no idea why the Gods dropped these beautiful things in my lap. Even less do I have a notion of when I may be able to consume this enormous amount of tea!

I'm thinking about buying one of those 2007 Haiwan 9908 Old Nugget Ripe Brick now that I look at it. For $21 dollars that comes out to about .04 a gram, a little over a dollar an ounce. Too bad there wasn't a sample of it I could purchase first though.

that pu brick is really worth getting. i'm thinking about getting one myself because i really enjoyed what dizzwave sent me. it seems like a very forgiving tea

I see you're package arrived as well. Any thoughts yet? I like both cakes that I ordered, but I'm really digging the 8100. To say it packs a punch would be an understatement. I may have to buy a few more. Hopefully someday soon I'll get around to posting a more in depth review on my newest editions.

They just came yesterday so I haven't gotten beyond taking a picture and trying to remember which ones we ordered in common. There's a lot of competition these days with Shincha for my affections, but I am motivated by your comments to dive into the "8100."

Maybe we could start a Yunnan Sourcing Cakes or Yunnan Sourcing Sheng thread where we could post about our cakes. That would be general enough that we (and others) could share comments about other YS products as well.
