I used a bit more leaf (6 gr in 100 ml gaiwan) and the flavor is still quite light, but there is some character in the lightness and a good feel in the mouth that led me through 12 infusions, every one of which I found quite enjoyable despite the lack of strong leather, tobacco, or horse sweat tastes that I typically crave.
interesting, the last time I tried it... the broth was thin maybe what you meant as light... still not yet my ideal choice to add to the collection

Nor mine. Since I already own a cake of it, I am trying to look on the bright side!

Has anyone by chance tried out the 2009 Mengku "Jade Dew" Early Spring Raw cake or have it ordered/thinking about ordering it?

It seems to be the first 2009 cake out...

I do plan on ordering the Jade Dew sometime here in the near future. Along with a few more of the Xiaguan FT #6 cakes. For the price, why not?

They actually released three different 2009 Guan Zi Zai cakes before the Jade dew.

Anyone else have experience with the Xiaguan Golden 8100? I'm thinking of picking one up, but XG released so many winners last year I'm afraid of getting a dud.

And how was that FT #6?

I like the 8100. Nothing I'd buy a second cake of, but glad I have one. My wife even likes it, as does a friend who happened to be there when I was drinking a pot. I seem to recall Sal enjoyed the 8100 too? -dave

I did enjoy the 8100, but I'm really liking the FT #6. If you like a touch of smokiness in a nicely balanced cake, I'd highly recommend the purchase of the FT #6. Scott from YSLLC also seems to be a fan of this one.

I've really neglected this thread. I feel like a bad father.

But... I've added reviews of the 2009 Mengku "Jade Dew" and 2009 Xiaguan FT8603-9 as posted by shogun89 in the "pu of the day" thread. Keep the reviews coming shogun.

I'm still waiting on my order from 3.5 weeks ago to arrive. Then I might have a review or two to add.
