It is the "2007 Douji "Yi Wu Shan" Raw Pu-erh tea of Yi Wu mountain" which was available in Scott"s YS some time ago. It already has some of the aged yiwu character, the body and mouthfeel is good but nothing extraordinary. The price (35 USD at that time) was more than OK for such a cake, though.

BTW it is time for you folks to show off your collections ;)

Dear Tea drinking enthusiasts

Have been home bound since restricted movement imposed by government and daily enjoying sipping many cups of tea through my collection of raw Puer since 2002... the aging ranging from 3yrs-50yrs.
These older raw Puer tea used to quite “difficult” to drink when they were produced as the flavour were very astringent and bitterly sweet and some were smoky too.. Some of these aged tea flavour have gotten “flattish” became much milder from what I can remembered they used to be..... I enjoyed raw Puer Tea those aged more than 10years and above, can drink many many cups throughout the day.... those aged tea less than 7years were mainly single origin premium selection limited production quantities... these tea are the newer generation Puer tea where one can immediately drink them and they have a very fragrant floral after taste that lingers in your mouth for long... down side of these tea, they are still quite “raw” and one cannot enjoy many cups...
have been stay home stay safe drink tea.... 😋
Will start taking photo of the tea cake and post

Bought these raw Puer in 2002, was told that they were produced around year 2000... anyone has these?
Just brew a pot and conclusion was this tea tasted quite “flattish” now... Will have to keep waiting again... few years back it used to be very overpowering fragrant...

I don't have much experience with Pu-Erh cakes - do they go through ups and downs? You mentioned it used to be overwhelmingly fragrant and now it's flat. Will it come back like that?

This is the most pure piece of old class Zhang Pu'er tea I have collected. It is made by Taiwan's XZH tea company, and has been approved by the Taiwan Imperial Palace Chiayi Nanyuan Museum for planning exhibition.

cheap cooked pu for greasy dinners at home and after having a birthday cake :

raw pu that i am finishing up in my current rotation. bought this back in 2008 or 2007. it tastes very nice now. pungent smell and amazing mouth feel. the cake was hard like a brick though. chisels were needed in prying off drinkable chunks :

another cake i am finishing up. an older raw pu cake. also dated from around 2007or 8. just want to finish this tea. nothing fancy here. it's pu and that is all that matters.

no plans to get new tea at all. there is plenty for me to finish. i am the only tea drinker in my household. the cakes without any graphics were special back door pu erh tea. my seller told me about his secret stash of tea he had. i liked this. i bought some.

maybe the seller lurks here?

take care fellow tea lovers!!!

Literally thousands of these, in my dad’s collection.

Based in Malaysia, aging well. 75-85% humidity all year round.
