Just getting started with sheng cakes. All I had before was loose and tou shu.

This one belongs to a friend but it lives in my cupboard / pumidor.

This one is all mine.

Thanks. I'm actually from Brooklyn but spend most of my days around the office in the city.

they're pretty? too much money laying around? bored? army of thirsty little teachatters tied him up and threw him on his keyboard? random blindfolded selection?

(sincerely,

Gee whiz, you ask hard questions. I guess I could just refer you to GGU's answer, but the fact is that there are different reasons for different purchases.

Had samples and liked them:
  • 2004 Huali Premium Ripe Pu-erh Tea Brick
    2007 Bulang Spring Buds
Curious because of discussion in this forum (probably all started by "you know who"89):
  • 2008 American Hao 0801
BBB had a kind word in this blog:
  • 2007 Mengku Arbor Pu-erh Tea Cake
Wesli loved a previous year (sold out) of this cake and maybe this one will also be good:
  • 2007 Golden Melon Tribute Tuocha
I liked the 1998 (sold out) and hope I like this one:
  • 2000 HTC Pu-erh Tea Cake 2 oz
Curious to try Douji brand (?) from Yiwu Zhengshan Tea Company (because of what Jim wrote):
  • 2006 Douji Yiwu Mountain sampler
2008 Douji Shangdou Pu-erh Tea Brick
2008 Douji Dadou Pu-erh Tea Brick
Liked the 2007 Jingmai Mountain Spring, wanted to try another Jingmai, and the one Jim suggested won't be in till later this month:
  • 2005 Jingmai Wild Arbor
Looked interesting:
  • Aged Premium Puerh Tea Tasting Sample (20 gr)
    2004 Fengqing Loose Leaf shu
I'm always looking for the perfect mini-tuocha (BTW, this isn't it):
  • 2006 Xiaguan Mini Tuocha
Can't remember! (someone, maybe "you know who"89, may have recommended it...or maybe Bubba_Tea):
  • Rongzhen 9878 Ripe
