saw this tuo a lot in taobao.com... i just wonder why there are so many of these tuo's around...? is it that its just the time for this tea to come out (ready to drink already?) or is there just too many produced?

It was $400 here in the US. I never could justify buying any 5 Dayi for that much money...Did get good reviews on two of the bings from Hopgoblin.

Just got my latest order from CTS! My aged shu box is almost filled up but it looks like i have one small section left that needs something added to it. 1996 CNNP ripe from YS? Dry...I've been eyeing the 2001yr Shui 7572 from Sungsing. Its rated a 6 on their wetness scale so it sounds interesting but i think at that price i want to sample it first.

(Ripe)
1980's Menghai Tea Factory 7572- 1/2 cake, yum but $$$$
1980's toucha- 80g
1995? mini toucha- must be an error in date listed as they seem to be early-mid 2000's judging by taste and aroma.
2000 Emperor loose leaf-100g

(Raw)
1980's Menghai Tea Factory 7542- 10g
2000 Tong Xing Hao- 50g

Looks awesome, G-off-re. Especially that 80s 7572.

Was that '96 CNNP shu from YS worth checking out? I was thinking of throwing in a sample with my next order.

Received a small (ish) order from Jas-eTea a few days ago.
  • 2009 Douji Jingmai
    2009 Dayi 7452 shu
    2007 Dayi Secret Aroma
    2009 Dayi 8582
    2010 Dayi Gong Tuo shu
Placed this order with the intention of not buying anymore young Dayi for a while. Bought the 8582 because the price wasn't bad, 7452 and Gong tuo are for drinking now. Added the Secret Aroma on a whim.

Have yet to try any of it, but I'm looking forward to the Jingmai.

nickE,

To me the 96 CNNP shu sound interesting since i haven't encountered any shu thats been dry aged for that long. I was thinking of buying a yixing pot for shu from YS but i've been putting off placing an order until i find something else to add to my order so i can justify spending $20+ for shipping. This cake would be that item if i was to buy a whole cake and not just a sample. A sample would be pointless unless i thought i was going to place another order in the next year but i'm not. They have plenty in stock so maybe i'll wait for another shu lover to post a review of it before i pull the trigger. So yes you should get a sample with your next order and let us know how it is. :D

2006 – Xia Guan Ma Bei Tuo Cha – Raw Pu-erh – 250g Tuo - notice the front cover difference (with and without the 250g) though both are from the same year. hmmm.... misprint?

Figured out the difference.... seems like 2006-03 is the very first time it was released in box. After that the word 250g is printed on it. The y2007 box looks exactly like the 2006-06 except the date.

My initial box I bought has the wrong cover. Someone has swapped it. Had it replaced

2007 – Duo Te Li 5350 – Raw Liu Bao – 500g Brick - Bought 4. Plan to buy another 4 the next trip.

Some info from:
http://82.100.62.113/chawang/index.php/ ... -500g.html

5350 : the first number "5" means using tea harvested in 2005 as material

Unusual and rare Sheng Liubao brick tea. The processing method is similar to Raw (Sheng) Pu-erh. Sun-dried maocha and natural aging process without "wo dui" fermentation. Chosen better material than common Liubao Shu brick tea, pressed to brick and stored two years in factory. 2007 is the packing date. Used the same quality tea inside and outside, a very good selection of Liubao tea!
