haha, yeah, I had to include it though. :) It's too cute.
I don't know where/when that tea's from, but Fong at Serenity Tea recommends those mini tuos. I've tried a couple of them (I have a dozen or so) and can't like them.. They just have that dirt taste, like the TongQing brick in the "Taste of Mellowness" sampler. It's weird, all of the other stuff Fong has recommended is awesome.

Here is the pumidor, sheng on top, shu on the bottom... You can sorta see the little black hygrometer on top of a stack, and one of the bowls with a sponge in it on the top level. (The others are obscured by pu.)

And here is most of the sheng:

And here is most of the shu:

And there is no more on the way! Not for a little while. :)
Thanks for the pictures Dave! You have a big collection! I love your pumidor, much more open than mine so you get more air in there and of course more room for pu. I see the tong of mengku Ban Zhang bricks. How many bricks per tong?

Good eye, shogun, yep that's it right in the back middle, flanked by two boxed tuochas. It's 10 bricks, = 1kg.

With the price of Ban Zhang going up constantly, Hold onto those for a long time, they should turn into some really fine tea!

I'm wondering wheter it would be better for me just to get one cake or 4 bricks of that stuff rather than a few lower quality Mengku cakes. What do you guys think?

That's a good question.. Because the "lower-quality" cakes are still awesome. You could even get 1 or 2 LBZ bricks, and 1 or 2 lower quality cakes.
Cakes like the 2008 MYC "Old Tree Green" might just be cheaper because they're so new, not because they're lower quality. But for the price of that one, it would not be good to pass it up, imho. :)
Another note on the cheaper cakes: the 08 MYC Spring Tips is not nearly as good as the 08 OTG imho.. Spend the extra couple bucks on that one!
Has anyone else tried the OTG? Am I crazy? (ok.. I realize that those are two separate questions :))

I think I will get 1-2 bricks of the LBZ that still 20-40 individual sessions, which is alot if you dont have it all the time. Here is the list of cakes I find interesting. I particularly like the cheaper $15 ones because if they are as good as you guys say, its a good deal. What I'm looking for is alot of bang for my buck. And from what I hear Mengku is the company for it.

Interesting, I didn't realize there was another Old Tree Green Cake.. The one I had was the Mu Ye Chun OTGC.. the one you linked is not the Mu Ye Chun. I'm sure it's still good though. :) I'll have to try it, but I promised myself not to order again for a little while!

The old tree cake is fairly decent and drinkable now. Considering the price I've rather enjoyed it. The sage verse is very nice as well, but needs some aging yet before its drinkable. Its bitter, but I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again. Don't forget to look at the 2008 Mu Ye Chun old tree cake either. Great price on that as well.

But I must ask, heavy.... Why 5 of each of those? Why didn't you spring for the tongs? (And doesn't YS have a buy 7, get the 8th for free deal on those?)
