Finally a nice Fuhai is available

One of the intentionally aged teas, Pu-Erh has a loyal following.

I already pm'd fatman, but i figure i should post my appreciation out in the open.
I brewed some straight away after opening up the bubble pack, like the 2 previous comments suggested it's an easy to drink shu, and very enjoyable no weird shu fermentation tastes detected even after accidentally oversteeping.

Thanks Fatman2

Most welcome. You were one of the three that I counted. Enjoy. :)

I got around to brewing a session with it last night. I brewed 5.00 grams in a 130 ml pot with no rinse and 8 infusions ranging from 30 seconds to 6 minutes. I could have gotten more infusions if time had permitted, but I felt that I got a complete sense of it in the 8 infusions.

I am more sheng than shu drinker by maybe 3 to 1, but I do drink a fair amount of shu. I found this one to be quite average: easy to brew, tasty, relaxing, aromatic. As Orguz mentions, there are none of the awful tastes some shu, especially some young shu, has, but I did not find it to be exceptionally strong, sweet, rich, or aromatic. It's character struck me as being what I have come to expect normal.

I suppose this means I have gotten spoiled by finding a number of good, inexpensive shu puerh to drink and that Fatman2 has not been so fortunate. I think, Seb, you may be able to find quite a few things you will like as much as this one or even more.

Again, thanks for the opportunity to try this out! Let me know if I can send you some shu samples.

Don't leave us all hanging Sal. What are some of your favorites? I know you've sent me a few shu samples. I need to brew those up soon and give them a test. I'm so backed up on samples its pathetic.

Sorry to hear that, Trioxin. Not sure shu will help that problem.

Puerh Shop
2006 Golden Sail Brand Loose Leaf Puerh Tea
2000 HTC Puerh Tea Cake (not cheap :( )
2004 Premium Ripe Puerh Tea Brick (Huali Tea Factory)
2006 Changtai Banna Tuocha
2005 Tongqing from Yiwu Longma Tea Co. Ltd

YSLLC
2007 Haiwan 9908 Old Nugget Puerh Tea Brick, Lao Cha Tou

Awazon
2006 Tea Tree Yinhao "Bai Zhen Jin Lian" (from you -- a little off in first infusion, but fine after that)

There's tons more out there and lots that I have that are good, but not good enough for me to make a mark next to their name. Brandon, Omegapd and Augie are more expert on the topic than I am. As you can see, I have (quite by accident) gotten more shu from Puerhshop lately than any place else, but Jim does not have a corner on the market.

Anyone else can expand the list of good-to-drink-now shu?

Sal, I happened to be a sheng person. That may explain why I have not discovered many of the good shu. :)

At least now I know there are lots of other older vintage shu that are better than this 07 Fuhai. Will take a look at them when I get the chance.

I do have some 80s Feng Huang Tulin tuos that are extremely good. That is in my wife's private collection. :P

Is it a usual thing in Singapore for ladies to drink shu?

Not sure if it is. She only likes this aged feng huang tulin tuo so far. :)
