Dayi Golden Neddle White Lotus 2010 357g Ripe - not so nice compared to the previous year y2008. This has some bitterness and the 'wo dui' smell. The beeng looks not so fermented either, looks a bit greenish. May need to keep a while more before I think can really enjoy

This is the version 2008 of the same recipe (just for show - didn't buy)

Dayi 2010 天人八部 357g Raw gift box - this is not at all like Dayi taste. Smoke smoke and smokyyyyyyyyy all the way but in a good way. It feels like I am smoking. This seems like a hot item in the tea expo. A lot of people buying it.

I sampled 2005 Menghai "Early Spring" raw tuo today. In early infusion, I thought it was similar to one of my 2004 7542, good huigan, good texture, may be I should buy at least one tuo ... By the 4th infusion, I was changing my mind, it became one dimension standard Dayi taste, later infusion, plantation taste, choke throat feel, yuk! Well, I have to write off yet one more tea. Some may say further aging might help, but I don't hold my breath for this.

I need a few weeks to recover before I would sample anything from Dayi again.

After yesterday rather unsatisfying session with 2005 Menghai "Early Spring" tuo, I have craving for 2010 EoT Bulang. I use over 7g of leaves in 100 ml gaiwan. It's not quite S&M tea session, but no that far from it. After one year of storage in the UK, the soup is deep yellow rather than pale yellow when I first brought it. The tea is settle into a much more mellow calmer territory, but the power is still here for one to experience. It could not be more of a contrast from yesterday session with 2005 Menghai tuo. I think now I'm beginning able to tell the differences between good bitterness in potent good material and plantation rubbish roughness.

Update: After 6 or 7 infusions, I can taste some interesting lingering favour I have not noticed before. It will be interesting to try again next year and see how it develop.

2010 Lao Ban Zhang loose mao cha from Norbu. Had a craving for puerh after some discussions elsewhere, and as usual, this tea didn't disappoint. I do give it a long preliminary rinse/steep, letting the early bitterness out, and it works wonderfully to tame the harsh and get to the good steeps as quickly as possible.

One side black One side white tea - Got this sample from a friend. Gave it a try. Smells and taste like red tea. Light sweetness aftertaste with the aroma lingering in mouth. Unfortunately, I don't red tea. Have to take mint after drinking it.

10 years old raw - This is preorder tea. I didn't catch the name of this tea. They said it is 10 years old tea. The dry tea leaves are quite greenish and the tea colour is quite light. Taste wise the tea is quite smooth with good aroma. Just that the colour is not as per 10 years old. Maybe storage issue???

Small Factory Wild Tree Puerh New Tea - This tea just arrived at a teashop. It is preorder status but the samples are here first. We tried the Yiwu, and it is quite a nice Yiwu taste. Quite drinkable now. Leaves are big. Gives a satisfying aftertaste. Price is unbelieving too.

Lin Hao Tuo Tea 2006 raw - This won guang zhou golden award in 2005. The tea leaves is quite broken. Astrigency is quite strong but not bitter and has sweet aftertaste. Most likely have to keep for years to come so that the astrigency will go down. As of now, I cannot drink this. Gives me the shiver in a good way
