I think the official price is ¥1911 (about $300) for a 1911g cake. A set has 4 cakes. It's said that there are only 1911 sets made.the_skua wrote:Out of blatant curiosity, how much?
Based on taobao, 4 box set cost about MYR 4500 (USD 1600)gingkoseto wrote:Have you seen their "tasting samples"? It's more affordable (I don't mean per unit price) and got a few more people buying it. But I hope you manage to get to taste it for freeauhckw wrote:gingkoseto wrote:Oh my! auhckw, seeing your enthusiasm, I've been wondering if you would eventually buy the Dayi xin hai revolution (which seems to me a new peak of dayi's craziness)! I don't mean to infuse the idea into your mind... Maybe someday you can get some free drinking of it in a tea house and report to us about it
Someone I know got much lower price. Maybe some seller put a high price but sell for a lower one.auhckw wrote:Based on taobao, 4 box set cost about MYR 4500 (USD 1600)gingkoseto wrote:Have you seen their "tasting samples"? I have not come across it here yet, but even if it does, I doubt with that price any tea shops will be generous to open it
Yes, taobao price is hard to say. Sometimes too expensive, sometimes too cheap.gingkoseto wrote: Someone I know got much lower price. Maybe some seller put a high price but sell for a lower one.
The way dayi sell this tea is rather odd. Some other teas I've seen (like the one from Liming) have sample sets showing up first in order to attract people, or at least sample and tea show up together. But sample sets of this one came later than the tea. Sellers can only brew the samples either to show people or let people taste in the store, because they can't afford breaking the big cakes either. So be hopeful
No kidding! The price quote I got is ¥100($16). Usually taobao price will be no more than tea sold in a real store. Maybe you took the price for the set as price for each small cake?auhckw wrote:Cannot afford the big version... there is a mini version. Taobao price is MYR 200 (USD 72).
Is it same as per this?gingkoseto wrote:No kidding! The price quote I got is ¥100($16). Usually taobao price will be no more than tea sold in a real store. Oh my! It seems I misunderstood the whole thing. Now I guess the ¥100 quote I got was for 20g x 4 samples, no formal packaging. I said I "almost" wanted to buy it because I thought I would like to pay ¥80 for the packaging...auhckw wrote:Is it same as per this?gingkoseto wrote:No kidding! The price quote I got is ¥100($16).
