Me too! I got the wrrrrrrroooong melon.
If I had that melon I would put it on my mantle and worship it like a god. I would beg forgiveness that I ever thought it was border tea. Each day I would ask to partake in its beneficence......5-7 grams per day. Forever basking in its soul soothing glory. :P
Whoa.   Someone hit the pu hard last night. . . . .

2008 Yi Wu Mountain Bamboo Raw Pu-erh tea

2008 Yi Wu Mountain Bamboo Raw Pu-erh tea from YS

8g in 150ml pot. Smells a little bit like chlorine. Taste isn't much better. I stopped drinking after 5 infusions, I was bored of it. Qi was practically non-existent.

Astringency- little
Smoke- light
Dryness- little, middle and sides of the tongue
Mouthfeel- medium
Hui gan- little
Flavor- below average
Overall value- cheap pu, cheap taste
Purchase again- no

Edit: I just had a session with a different pu in the same pot, and I was getting similar results. I think the pot may be affecting things a little too much. I'll try this tea again tomorrow in a gaiwan.

Update: just tried it in a gaiwan with similar results. There's just something in the flavor of this tea that I find very unpleasant.

I don't think that's border tea, is it?

Border tea generally refers to tea grown *outside* Yunnan, like in neighboring areas in Vietnam, not to tea grown in Yunnan near border areas.

Also, I imagine plenty of us have had border tea without knowing it.
It is my understanding, which may prove false, that most melon tea is border tea. And given that De Hong is a border county it would be easily procured. But like I said... I could be wrong.

You might find it interesting to what Gordon of DTH states about Melon shape puerhs. Interesting.

Tell me about it! LOL Gordon was actually kind enough to send me a sample of the Bai Cha! Simply gorgeous! Fruity, very acidic, lovely texture.. just superb.

2008 Xiaguan Fei Tai Xi Zi "Happy Tuo"

A delightful, ethereal sheng that makes me want to extort money from the local orphanage.

'07 Xiaguan gold ribbon tuo, in a broken yixing (yeah, I'm a tough guy)

This is a nice enough sheng, but I don't see how anyone awarded it a gold ribbon. Nonsense. It sports the typical XG neutron star compression and is alive with flavor, but has a slightly disconcerting sour component. It's not nearly in the league of the FT branded tuos. I'd stick with those.
