More info regarding age, etc please? I have some aged cakes that are like that but it's apparent they weren't necessarily loosely compressed to start with, just aged to the point of compost I guess. Most cakes loosen with age. (no comments about loosening with age from the peanut gallery please.) I'm pretty sure one of the 20+ year old touchas I have was a rock when it was younger, now I can almost pull off pieces with my hands.

I've had cakes that could easily be loosened with fingers alone. Nada's Cha Chan Yi Wei and a Jinggu Ancient Tea Tree Dabaihao (white pu) come to mind. I'm sure stone pressing is required for this result, but some of the other excellent ideas advanced above by our panel of experts may also be at work.

Which weighs more, a pound of feathers or a pound of gold?tony shlongini wrote:Which weighs more- a pound of feathers or a pound of lead?
In that case a pound of feathers weighs more since it is measured in the avoirdupois system (1lb=7000g) and gold is measured in the troy system (1lb=5760g).
Just thought I would share that. A pound of feathers is heavier than a pound of gold.
