a noob to the tea forum!

by neecybeans » Aug 6th, '09, 00:41

Hey there! I just joined TeaChat, though I've been buying from the Adagio site for a few months now. I'm still quite new to the whole tea "scene", so pardon me if I sound silly- I still have lots to learn! But just wanted to say hello and I'm hoping to make some new friends :D

Same here. I never hesitate to ask a question on this site, though I bet there are some who wish I did. Just kidding.
In addition to asking questions though, there are some really excellent books about tea out there. If you're interested, just ask. I'm sure you'll get bombarded with suggestions.
My first tea book was The Tea Companion (Connoisseur's Guides) by Jane Pettigrew.
There is also a new version of this out now called The NEW Tea Companion - CRAZY. Not sure how much of the info in it is different from the original version, haven't gotten it yet.
Anyway.
I've gotten a few more since then, but that first one really kind of set a good base for tea knowledge, in my humble opinion.

Thank you all for your kind welcomes and suggestions! :D
To answer the question "What kind of teas do I like?", well, I enjoy many, of course. Though my favorites are probably in the flavored black teas. I drink these for my morning awakening and they surely get the job done! Though right now, I've got my "sleep tea" as I call it since it really does help in my sleeping, it's rooibos jasmine that I got from adagio. mmMMM! Time for bed!
