I've drank sweet tea all my life but i took an interest in loose leaf tea about 7 years ago. Within the last year I've gotten a little more serious about quality and trying different things.

What was your first Tea?
Probably lipton. My first loose leaf tea was some gunpower green from Upton teas.

Either milk oolong or the otti if I can get on it.

How long have you been drinking tea? I really started drinking it in high school, in large part because my parents had a limit on how much coffee I was allowed. It's the duty of every teenager to find loopholes wherever possible. ;)

What was your first tea? That would be Twinings English Breakfast.

What is your current favorite? I go back and forth. Oolong is always a good choice. Golden Monkey. My mother recently came back from Ireland and England; she brought me a tin of Harrods' Afternoon Blend that I am really enjoying.

What is your next purchase? I'm pretty well stocked, at the moment, but I may try to figure out how to get hold of some more of the Harrods tea.

Where is your favorite spot to brew up? I would say at home, curled up on the couch with my kitties and a good book, but I tend to drink most of my tea at work. Sometimes it's the only thing that gets me through the day.

How long have you been drinking tea? What was your first Tea?
I have been drinking various herbal brews since I was a toddler. Our family used to pick dog rose fruits, lime tree blossoms and other stuff which we dried and occasionally drank. In the last years of my primary school (10 years ago) I had trouble waking up every morning so I made myself a big cup of strong black tea each day (okay, it was partially because my father was heavy tea drinker at the time so drinking tea was a "grown up" thing to do  ) Then for few years I didn't care much about tea until few months ago, when I was given some mao feng. I started drinking it regularly while I was working and soon I found myself obsessed with tea culture and tea in general.

What is your favorite Tea currently?
Since I am quite new to tea, it is hard for me to say. At the moment I like Chinese greens (namely dragonwell) and darker oolongs.

What is your next purchase?
Some good sencha. I have tried it before but failed to brew a decent cup. Now I feel is the time to give it (and myself) a second chance. So either that or dongfangmeiren.

Where is your favurite spot to brew up?
In my room, in my improvised tea corner. A low table, electric kettle, an interesting root in a corner (for decoration), a bowl for waste water and leaves, a cup and a cheap gaiwan. It is lovely to sit there on the floor when it rains outside with a cup in your hand.

Hello!

How long have you been drinking tea?
Not sure...probably since the mid-90s? I drink tea fairly often, but am not terribly educated on the subject. Slowly trying to change that.

What was your first Tea?
Again not sure, but I'm betting it was something along the lines of Celestial Seasonings or Stash.

What is your favorite Tea currently?
The genmaicha from Sugimoto USA. (Though I'm drinking their hojicha at the moment.)

What is your next purchase?
A new teapot (or two)! Likely a kyusu.

Where is your favorite spot to brew up?
No place special--just at home.

Hello! I've been meaning to join for forever, but finally got to it.

How long have you been drinking tea?
I thiiiink I began when I was about 12-- so ten years ago.
What was your first Tea?
The Celestial Seasonings Imperial White Peach and Perfectly Pear tea bags.
What is your favorite Tea currently?
This is an insanely difficult choice, so I'll just share a few all-time favorites.
Lapsang Souchong, any I can obtain
Teavana's Monkey Picked Oolong
LetterBox's Fable [a pure rooibos that's to die for]
And a blend I built through AdagioTeas of Lapsang, Gunpowder, and Pumpkin Spice
What is your next purchase?
More of that blend as soon as I can make myself finish a label for it [which could be quite some time] or probably some nice Lapsang Souchong from Fava
Where is your favorite spot to brew up?
There's a friend from high school that every time I came over, we'd go make tea in her kitchen. It was the first place I ever had tea made with water from a kettle instead of a microwave. At the time, we had a very close-knit group of friends that spent a lot of time there, and I remained a frequent guest throughout my first few years college. On the rare occasion I can visit and we make tea, it's a very warm and nostalgic thing for me.

About 15 years ago I realized a teabag isn't really TEA! I love assam but not every place carries it. I am drinking Drum Mountain right now as it has less caffeine; as how old people can't tolerate the hard stuff late in the day. It's a rainy day here and any hot tea tastes soothing and warm. I just ordered a beautiful new Yixing pot called "Mandarin Ducks" or something, it's red and goes well with my red kitchen. Tims Mom.

Been drinking tea for 65 years. Mom made gallons of iced tea with that teabag stuff. I've been serious about good tea for 20 years. I just made some golden yunnan and I cannot like it. But I have 17 others to choose from :- ). I'm branching out from black tea; my son told me about the gaiwan way and I really like the oolong. Certain Pu Ers are better than others.... I've never smoked so I have a strong sense of taste.

I just got hsinchu oriental, bai hao, dancong aria, wuyi - I like the dancong best. But I'm getting really brave-I just ordered gyokuro genmaicha green. I have a new yixing pot and an yixing gaiwan coming. Still an inexpensive hobby, not mention good health, and meeting nice people. And whatever I don't like I can send to my son in Spokane.

I have loved assams for quite a while, but I am branching out to more greens, a lot due to the caffeine issues I have. I have a new Yixing pot and traveling gaiwan coming. That OCD , you know!
