Hello from Philly (Soon to be Atlanta)

Hello All,
I'm a soon-to-graduate college student in the Philly area. While I have always liked tea, my appreciate of it has in the past few years turned into an intense passion. If I have to choose a favorite tea I would probably say Wuyi oolong, though I find that teas seem almost to match moods or occasions. I've been a little limited with my schooling situation (low finances, hectic schedule, and crowded rooming) to enjoy tea as much as I would like, but now that I'm graduating I'm looking forward to dedicating myself more fully to this passion. So much to learn and try!

Check out Bears x3's blog at http://www.puerh.blogspot.com He has a link for our SETA (Southeast Tea Affair) page on FB. Look forward to hopefully seeing you at one of our meets! By the way, I worked with a Peg (Margaret) Fetterolf up in Schuylkill Co. - any relation?

Welcome to the site - look forward to seeing you around. :D

Thanks for the warm greetings and the to link to Bear's blog! It makes me even more excited for Atlanta since I was unaware of any tea shops or people in the area.

And Jess, I'm not familiar with any family members named Peg (or Margaret) though it certainly might be a distant relative considering its an uncommon name. Also, you made it sound as if you were a part the Southeast Tea Affair group, and I'm curious how is it? I quickly browsed Bear's blog and it looks very impressive, certainly above and beyond my own knowledge and experience. I guess that is my main question, is it a problem for a wet-behind-the-ears tea lover to join such a group?

Yes. I'm the Jess K. he mentions in his blog. The group is very informal, very relaxed. There is quite the spectrum of experience ranging from the "pros" to the "noobs" such as myself. I believe the method of contact is to leave a comment on Jason's blog with your email. He has to approve blog comments, so your email isn't posted. He's usually pretty good about keeping everyone up to date ahead of time for when we're going to meet. We had one back in March, so we're probably due for one soon - usually on a Saturday. =)
