Hello to all the amateurs of tea

by Oranda » Feb 10th, '15, 04:44

Hello
I live in Belgium and I speak French. My English is not very good but I am going to do my best (thank you Google translation) :D . A few months ago, I was passionate about the Japanese pottery and naturally, I wanted to be also interested in the green tea. When I tested Matcha, I found it very bitter and I said to myself that perhaps it was not really for me. However, I persevered and I discovered quality matcha (a bit more expensive), soft and creamy. Now, I want to drink Matcha every days !
I am very happy to be a member of this forum which I find very interesting.
See you soon to discuss the best matcha!
Have a nice day all

Yes, I am sure that there are many things about the tea to be explored, to know and test.
A lot of pleasure in perspective ! :)

Thank you for your welcome.

Good evening

Welcome, Oranda, to our TeaCommunity!

I am curious about your description of your matcha journey--I have also found my first attempts at matcha to be unpleasantly bitter. But I stopped after several not-very-pleasant failures. Can you share a few more details about which matcha, or matcha(s), turned your opinion of it around?

Hello Oranda and welcome to the group!!!

I have still not tried Matcha, but I plan to try it soon! I keep hearing mixed feelings about it from my friends, so I've been putting it off. If I don't like it the first go round, I may just need to buy a more expensive version like you did! :)

Thank you again to all, I am really delighted to be among you.

To answer the questions on the bitter taste of the Matcha that we wish to avoid, it is preferable to choose a grinding of tea leaves without veins and stalks. The manufacturers inform this detail of their site generally. It asks for more handling and thus, this type of Matcha is more expensive than others but the taste is really fantastic, very soft, smooth and fresh... :)

Beautiful evening with a good very hot tea to all !

In the pleasure to read you on topics.

Thank you, this is very helpful. I will try again with some better matcha. I'm enjoying Gyokuro more, so it might be time to try it again.
