Hi all! I just joined this forum and I'm looking forward to chatting with you tea people! I'm mostly into green tea myself. I'm quite a newbie when it comes to high quality tea, but I've bought a tokoname teapot, nice japanese teacups and some good quality green tea from Internet, so I'm ready to start serious tea drinking!

Hi Ritva. Sounds like all you need is some good tea flellowship and you are all set...good thing you found TeaChat. You are not our only Fin member btw!!!

So..welcome to TC, make sure you visit TeaDay which is right below Introduction. It is a great place to see what everyone is drinking today, and you can share what is in your cup as well. Newbies are quite welcome there. So, stop by there and tell us what is in your cup!

Welcome :D

I remember reading that Finland is the country with the greatest consumption of coffee worldwide. Good to see that you have broken away from the national fold ;)

It's true about Finns being the most eager coffee drinkers in the world. When I was child in 1970's, only me and one of my aunts drank tea in my whole family. When we went to visit friends or family no one would ever ask if we wanted to drink coffee or tea, they would just start making coffee. I would have to go to the kitchen and ask if I could please have some tea. If they had any, that would be 10-year-old Lipton tea bags... Fortunately it has changed now. I just read in a magazine that "tea is trendy drink" and most cafes are serving brewed tea as well.
