I've been reading around the forum for the past few weeks and decided it's high time I join. I've been into loose leaf tea for about a year now. My interest began after a tea master at a cafe offered me a free tea sample. I had never heard the term "tea master" (which I found kind of funny) and was taken aback by the semi evangelical fervor with which he gave me the sample. I didn't get around to trying it until weeks later. When I did, I had no expectations whatsoever. Of course, you know what happened next: the tea was a Revelation. It was like sipping a lilac garden, just amazing. I later discovered that it was a jade oolong and have since been trying out different oolongs.
More recently, I've taken to reading a couple of great tea blogs and acquainting myself with the tea lovin subculture at teachat. I'm looking forward to learning more about tea, especially about brewing methods and reliable vendors. And eventually I'll venture beyond oolongs, I'm sure, though there's still a lot of oolong to discover...

Hi tea fish! Welcome to the forum. Glad you joined and hope to see you around.
Thanks for sharing your tea discovery with us. Jade oolong is often very nice, but be prepared that there are many Jade oolongs and they will differ somewhat from what you already tried.
Have a great TeaDay!
