Gold Medal Rou Gui from Tea Urchin. It arrived yesterday (finally - why does airmail from China take 3 weeks?) and one session lasted 2 days. It has a deep rich flavor and I'm happy that I purchased a 50 gram canister so I can repeat the experience a number of times!

rinsed and let sit for a bit, then 3 steeps with just-off-the-boil water

put into a flask to take back to the computer ..

Glad you decided to try them. Their Tie Luo Han and Shui Jin Gui are very good.

I just had to ask for a refund from 2 vendors in China whose packages (not tea) never arrived in more than 1 month. China Post is the worst anywhere.

I'm surprised that you have the same difficulty as you're practically neighbors. I stopped ordering green teas directly from China because of the delays. I picture the packages crammed into a hot storage area for weeks. I buy greens from Seven Cups on the assumption that commercial shipping is more efficient and speedy but Wuyi oolongs can handle the delays better.

I was going to order 10 grams of each of the Wuyi oolongs, including the Tie Luo Han and Shui Jin Gui, but because of the way that they charge for shipping I decided to order the full size of the one tea. They also gave me some puerh samples.

I'm just confirming what the pioneer shoppers posted about this tea. The 50 grams came packed in a tightly sealed metal canister while the 10 gram samples were in bags. The oolong samples weren't listed on the website so I arranged that in an email correspondence.

I tried the Shui Jin Gui today and it was also excellent.

A lovely fruity session with Lao Cong Shan Cha, from Norbu. It's a nice contrast to the beautiful high mountain oolongs from the OTTI 19. I brewed it in my Petr Novak treebark pot, and it's definitely done nice things for this tea--bringing out the fruity/plummy notes and the roasted notes are milder. It's exactly what I hoped to get out of this pot.

Morning session with Si Ji Chun - A 2012.
After a few tries I found the perfect way to brew it, I must say that after the first results (mediocre) I'm starting to like it.

2010 Mi Lan Dancong from Jing Tea Shop

My final session with this tea....which is still very tasty. Fruity and expressive with a lingering finish.

2013 Guang Dong Phoenix DC from TeaVivre
Been fooling around with this all week, it's being finicky, got it right tonite - I'll thank my wonderful new A. Bero kyusu. :) And a way quick infusion, this one oversteeps really really fast and is punishing on that. Understeeped it's meh.
Pretty yum now. Love the Anxi Ma Liu Mie TGY better, an easy friend.
(Does anyone else basically drink tea all day, or am I odd? And into the night... ? Black or Oolong in the morning usually, brewed by the bed, sencha or some good green(s) for the daytime, usually an oolong of one sort or another in the evening and onward... depending on mood, right? So nice.)

1) Origintea's 2012 Winter Shan Lin Xi (B). Thick, smooth, and satisfying as usual.

2) Laocong Shuixian of unknown age. A little sour, but good aftertaste, good cooling sensation.
