2013 Spring He Huan Shan from FL -

A little eggy with herbs and just a touch of cassia. Very low florals. Not hugely different from a tea like Li or Alishan but its own unique thing that is pretty tasty.

Two pleasant oolongs this afternoon: broke out some of the Bai Ye Wang Dan Cong from TeaHabitat for the office birthday lunch (the birthday was for one of my office mates who enjoys my tea) and for the afternoon thermos for clinic, Taiwanese Tea Guan Yin from Norbu, a traditional roast. Very nice all round.

I am a couple of steeps into "gao shan" shui xian from Jing's Tea Shop. It's pretty good. I bought it last year. It's no longer on their site. Anyone else have this and remember what the harvest year was?

Last of the 2013 Spring Cui Luan Lishan from OTTI 19. Delicious. Enjoying warm now, and also cool brewed for the road. Glad I was able to double-up on the samples for this delicious OTTI. I need to make an oolong order soon.

Recently... a very good Shan Lin Xi wulong brought back from Taiwan by a friend. She doesn't know tea well but the tea is wonderful. I finished the last pot of it yesterday. Still drinking the TTC Spring 2013 Wenshan Baozhong tea. Really exquisite tea! I'm half way through the 150 grams now and grateful that the Winter harvest season is only 3 months away (more or less). Also drinking a decent Si Ji Chun tea...typical for the variety and very enjoyable for an "every day" drinking tea...nice flavor, citrus, bright, floral, light cream, goes on for round after round.

In a moment I'll sit to pour an as yet unopened 75g bag of Long Feng Xia wulong from Tea From Taiwan.

Blessings!

Dual oolong day: started with Da Yu Ling from OTTI 19, then onto Imperial TGY from Yunnan Sourcing. Both distinctly delicious.

A lovely cup of Dong-Ding-Gaoshan from Origin. This is my sort of everyday tea for sure (shame it's sold out).

Be afraid...

A tremendously slippery slope - well for me it was. I amassed so many teas I actually felt guilty/gluttonous looking at them in my storage crate (easily 80+ samples).

If I were starting over, I'd try to avoid buying more than 50g at a time of any green/lightly roasted/lightly oxidized oolong. I try not to buy such teas other than in vacuum-sealed packages of 50g or less, although for one I really like, I may buy a year's worth of those packages at once.
