Is there something a little higher-end? I want to make sure that I get a good idea of what each tea is capable of, and I wonder if I can get that at such low prices.

I'll look through the tea vendor guide as well, as that's an excellent resource that I have yet to make use of.
I didn't think teafromtaiwan has low prices. The sites I gave you are all in Taiwan and are buying directly from the farms and have the best quality. It's your job to pick the ones you like. I often buy the same type of tea from 2 sources just to compare. Your journey is just beginning.
I too, have found Teafromtaiwan to have very solid offerings quality wise. Also they have about 3 sets of sample offerings plus a DYL sample offering. You cannot go wrong with any of those! those along with the OTTI later would give you a great learning experience

My bad. I was singling out Tea Home when I asked for pricier/higher end options, but I did not make that clear.

As an aside, I did place an order with Norbu for the following:

-sample size of winter 2011 Dong Ding
-sample size of winter 2011 Gui Fei
-50g bag of winter 2011 Ali Shan High Mountain

I can't wait til they get here. Hopefully I'll be doing some serious tea drinking over the weekend. 8)

I'm curious, is Teahome the eBay branch of T-OolongTea?

Cheers.

No, they also have a website, quite different than T-oolong.

Teahome is found in the awarded lists of various oolong competition every season. Most of those are not the top notch award tea, which few people could get anyway. But after all they are competition award teas.

Thought I would mention this since we discussed this here ... OTTI 15 is now up. This will feature 6 Taiwan oolong selections from a grower in Taiwan, http://www.mountaintea.com/.

Really nice, broad range of Taiwan oolong.

Check it out here: http://www.teachat.com/viewtopic.php?f=74&t=17471
