I have and like both. The Wuyi bing isn't anything spectacular, but it's a good basic tea. It's mostly thick, sweet, and (lightly) roasty, though it's been a while since I had any.

Hou De's is in a different league all together. It's very complex and smooth when brewed right. I love this one, but with such a small piece I've only dipped into it once. At some point I want to get more so I can have some once in a while :)

Any idea if the 2006 one from teaspring has ageing potential?

Could be an interesting investment...

I've got the teaspring wuyi, was drinking it yesterday. For quality it's a rather average wuyi tea - good for a nice strong hit of wuyi but not something to pay too much attention to. I would invest in another sometime but not for aging, the compression is extreme and the tea doesn't seem to be of too high quality, might be nice to see what fairly wet storage would do to it but I'll someone else do that experiment.

With the picture inlaid on the cake it's a bit of a novelty item that tastes ok. My cousin asked for some tea for his birthday after visiting so I ordered him a few 25gr samples and one these - the bing went down very well.

I'm itching to try the hou de offering, too much tea out there not enough time/money.

I also have the TeaSpring bing and it was not my thing. I mailed most of it off to someone else ... Space Samurai maybe? I think Proinsias has the right take on this.

Yeah I have it, its currently in my closet as I attempt to age it.

I agree with what everyone else said. Its good, but nothing to write home about, but also kind of fun, and I think I only paid tne bucks for my first one.

I'm not aware of any, and I have a pretty long list of vendors. They're not very common, and AFAIK oolong ages better loose and contained.
