Done business with Jing Tea Shop???

by tjkoko_off » Dec 29th, '08, 08:13

I'm still awaiting delivery of my tea and gaiwan shipment ordered from JTS. Paypal billing was transacted thru 2Checkout.com. Even thought air shipment was selected, I'm still awaiting delivery of my items a little over two weeks later. I thought that I'd inquire here as to the experience others at this forum have had with either organization.

And also an unidentifiable transaction has shown up on my same credit card:

EXTRA PATH 800-6918539 TX $8.33

Anyone recognize this one? Googled the 800 number and someone posted the same comment as mine: unrecognized transaction. Hmmmmmm, any connection here?

EDIT: this is my first transaction with an organization in China and earlier someone posted having difficulties with an organization in Africa. And all of a sudden I'm seeing an unfamiliar transaction on my CC that my bank hasn't much information on either. It's christmas time and methinks bogus transactions abound. Nothing insinuated against JTC at this time, please.

You are right between Christmas in the US (If that is where you are from) and spring festival in China (on Jan 25th this year).

Shipping times are going to be slower, stuff may be delayed.

I have never seen anything like that on a credit card bill, but you should call your credit card company and bother them right away. I think it is everyone's civic duty to harass credit card companies as often as possible.

Yes, I reside in the U.S..

Would 25 January also be the start of the Chinese Lunar New Year?

Even for holiday traffic, 2 weeks is too long for air mail. Is it air mail or SAL? For SAL 2 weeks is not unusual.

If you paid through some paying system instead of using your CC directly, normally extra transaction will not happen. Extra transaction happens mostly from grocery or other store systems where you used your CC before and when the store system is hijacked. But as xuancheng said, to be safe, call you CC company asap. And let us know!

Identifying 2CO Orders

2CHECKOUT.COM*XXXXXXX 877-294-0273 (The XXXXXXX is the vendors soft descriptor.)
PayPal*2CHECKOUTCO 877-294-0273

also 2CO.com

---
is it a "pending" transaction ?
(CC company wont be able to do anything until its "posted'/final, they'll tell you to call back when its posted)
or "posted"/final/completed transaction?

either way, keep a close eye on your statements (better & faster: online)

Jing Tea Shop is reputable, no worries.

There are two contact emails on the website.
Write and ask.

I've seen 2checkout on my cc statement and everything looks okay. It's that other entry that raises questions.

On 11 DEC I received a notification from Sebastian of JTS that item has been shipped and that it should be received within 15 days. Probably I should be a bit more patient concerning delivery yet investigate the "Extra Path" transaction further. A dispute will be initiated.

Jing TS is very reputable, don't worry. I usually get my packages from Jing in ten [calendar] days, but every once in a while it takes three weeks, and I've heard of it taking four or more. It's just the nature of shipping SAL from China, unfortunately, and especially during the holidays. Don't forget all of the show storms across the US, too; your package may very well be held up somewhere in the midwest. Heck, I've got domestic packages that are over a week late right now.

JTS is very reputable. I recently ordered an xmas gift for my bf from Jing and received it via airmail in 17 days.

Customs can hold up shipments that would otherwise arrive on time, and with customs agents on holiday, it's likely their work is slower in December.

I advise you to be patient and work with Sebastien. If a shipment is lost, he is good about sending a replacement.

Okay, and THANKS! It's Christmas time here and Lunar New Year (just about) there. BTW the UPS tracking number of a package that was shipped from Staples has not yet shown up at the UPS tracking site.

The shipping method chosen was China Post Airmail - USA. Is it the same as SAL?

Will continue to be very patient and have initiated a dispute with my CC provider against "Extra Path". Based on i'net research recently conducted, it seems to be an intermediary payment partner like PayPal and 2Checkout. But I don't remember purchasing anything for the amount disputed.

FWIW, I ordered from Jing on December 3, and received the package today. It was shipped via air. I've received orders from them in as quick as 9 days, though.

I was just going to add, my friend sent me a Christmas package from Europe on the 8th and it just arrived today and it was sent priority.

So things are slow.

Pretty much everything I've ordered since Thanksgiving, domestic or international, has taken longer than usual. The holidays this year seem to be particularly slow. It seems like things are picking up speed now, though.

Sebastien at Jing will communicate promptly and make good on things gone wrong.
Scot at Yunnan sourcing and Gordon at Dragon (via ebay) will also communicate and make good on errors.
It may take a while bcause the mail is a pain to deal with .
