Wednesday TeaDay 10/27/10 Tea for one ... or two ... more?

by Chip » Oct 27th, '10, 01:14

It is another day, another day to drink tea and share what is in your cup with all of us. Stop by as you enjoy a cup or at the end of the day to reflect on your TeaConquests.

Yesterday we discussed international versus domestic tea buying. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.

Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. Are you drinking your tea alone today, or are you sharing your TeaTimes with someone? Please share. Also share generally.

I am looking forward to sharing this TeaDay with everyone. Have a great TeaDay, everyone!!! Bottoms up.

At home, mostly tea for 1, my guests are rarely tea drinkers. At work, tea for 1 (evening paperwork time), tea for 2 (tea friend dropping in or tea-loving visitor for small meeting) or tea for many during meetings or clinics: Friday's afternoon tea was shared with about 6 others; Monday I worked in the (sad) satellite office where no one else drinks tea; Tuesday's afternoon tea was shared with 3 others.

So....it varies.

I usually drink tea while I work all by my lonesome, but I have been known to force my guests to drink oolong, sencha and Silver Needle. They always like it. Or so I tell myself.

Having some oolong today.

I hardly ever share my tea. I live with a coffee drinker who's taste buds have been so corrupted that the only tea he can appreciate is puerh. I do have some family members who can enjoy a cup of good jasmine after dinner, but generally I enjoy my tea with the newspaper or a novel.

In my cup this morning - hard to decide - I have so many teas to choose from now that my Jing order arrived!

Tea alone; pretty much as usual. :( No grandaughters visiting today. No tea drinking friends any more. Just "me and my shadow."

Imperial Red (Da Hong Pao)from Silk Road Teas this morning. Yum.

Today I drink tea alone, although I often drink tea in company, either at home with my wife (also a tea-lover) or in the office with my Chinese colleague (who introduced me to the grandfather style of green tea brewing).

My lover is over today(: so we're going to make some rooibos^-^
Last night we found a place that had Mighty Leaf tea bags(they're full leaves and taste amazing)

and we got African Nectar and used this sugar....from brown packets that were organic and were grainy and about 10 times the size of normal sugars.

For the second cup, we experiments and ripped the bag to poor the leaves in and we put some of this buttery tasting honey in it. super yum yum(:

Drinking tea alone as usual, unless you count the pooches crashed on the couch beside me. Had hoped to start the day with otti6 but had too much going on so just had earlgrey de la creme, a good tea when i dont have time for multiple infusions. maybe tomorrow i will finally get to start tasting otti6. the box came while i was on vacation and the last two days i have been home have just been too busy.

Sadly most of my tea drinking is alone. I have got my Mother interested so sometimes we will share a cup.

White peony in my cup this afternoon.

I drink tea alone during the work day, but evenings and weekends I share dancong or yancha with my son and gyokuro or white tea with my daughter. We had guests the other night who were interested in tea, so I served them Master Xu's DHP.

Finished the last of my 2009 Seasonal DHP from Jing, and had Hou de's mid 90's dancong for lunch.
