Re: Wednesday TeaDay 12/1/10 Best of November?
My fav in November was a Chinese black (no surprise there, eh, Chip? )
Adagio's Black Dragon Pearls gave me several cups of great tea in November. Perhaps the cooler weather made this robust and brisk tea the best of the month. I did use a little milk with it; I'm using milk a lot less in some of my other black teas; however, the pearls just seem to demand it.

Obviously, I've been concentrating all my efforts in the japanese tea arena so I guess it isn't surprising to report that the best of November, for me, was a japanese green tea.
Maruyama from Maiko takes the blue ribbon for November.
This morning, I had yunnan golden tips from H&S. Not sure the word "golden" belongs in the description, but this tea is good when brewed very strong with half and half and sugar. It will have to suffice while I await my 93 point order from O-Cha.

Drat, beat me to it. But, same! Definitely November's winner.tortoise wrote:Maruyama from Maiko takes the blue ribbon for November.
Finishing off the TKY from the last day or so and then moving onto some Bai Houzi, I think, in a moment.

Looking back over my November tasting notes, the single best session with with a Hawaiian-grown oolong, from a tea swap. I will be looking for more of this tea with my next trip there.....
And today, started with a nice Den's shin-ryoku session for the OTTI #7. Good stuff.

My favorite for November goes to a Chinese anxi bao zhong. It had been a while since I had a green oolong and it turns out I like them even more now than I did before.
Long jing in my cup today.

Best session this month is XiZiHao '07 DinJin Nuer. Very funky for a puer, but it blows my mind.
Today was Nada's teas, mostly...Bangwai and Mansai. Bangwai is becoming more tastier with more high notes, but the heavy fruits, nuts, wood, and umami hasn't gone away either. Especially the wood, becoming more like the fragrant woods rather than regular dry wood.

Decent amount of great teas this month.
The OTTI Senchas were certainly up there, especially O-Cha's Miyabi & Togei. However, I think the tip of the hat goes to a 2009 Ma Hei Yiwu from YS. Really exceptional, clean, Yiwu taste.

I have been really enjoying matcha this month. I purchased some of Hibiki-an's Pinnacle Matcha and have a cup every evening after I return home from work. A few minutes of peace and quiet before cooking dinner and working on my website. It is sure a medicinal moment.

I´d say Chiran Sencha from O-cha was my fav for November

Thank Proinsias for coloring this TD foor us.
Fave was Japanese green, but virtually impossible to choose given all the OTTI tastings plus a bunch of other sencha. Too hard to pick.
Began the TD with a trial of organic Asamushi Sencha # 7132 from O-Cha served up in Hagi SO 13 Tempest.
Followed by first trial of the highly esteemed Tsuru jirishi Gyokuro with the Mrs. ... also from the O-C, crazy good stuff. Served up in the Zuiho Ono Hagi Gyo set.

My favorite teas for this month, in order, are gyokuro, pu-erh from my brick, and lavender sencha (nom nom nom). But the gyokuro blows everything out of the water, in my opinion.
Rose congou this afternoon, currently drinking jasmine sencha.
